On Jan 30th we celebrate the 4 year process that lead to insight in the hidden entrepreneurial potential of BoB (Black-owned Business) and afro-diaspora professionals. The Dutch Department of Economic Affairs requested this research as part of an active push for a more inclusive entrepreneurial funding ecosystem. As of April 1, 2023, Focco Vijselaar, a proponent of the project, serves as the General Director of VNO-NCW. Prior to this, he was the Director-General for Enterprise and Innovation at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy from 2018. His earlier roles include Chief Economist at the same ministry and Director of International Financial Relations at the Ministry of Finance. Focco will receive the first results of the BEE project research at the Malietoren in The Hague, the Netherlands.
